NF Trinity, in collaboration with the Hong Kong Life Sciences Society (HKLSS) and the Family Offices Association Hong Kong (FOAHK), recently convened a symposium focused on intellectual property rights and investment strategies in the life sciences sector. This event was held at the new headquarter of the Nan Fung Group, AIRSIDE, a landmark development that merges modern business with historical significance at the site of the former Kai Tak Airport.
The symposium drew over thirty interns from HKLSS and FOAHK for a tour of AIRSIDE, guided by Nan Fung Group’s staff. The interns explored the project’s innovative features and its commitments to environmental sustainability and green technology.
The educational session featured a keynote address by Ms. Pauli Wong, a distinguished patent attorney from Eagle IP Limited who specializes in the life sciences industry. Ms. Wong provided an in-depth analysis of intellectual property and patents, addressing the unique challenges in the life sciences field and offering insights into potential career opportunities within patent law.
Mr. Tan Tian from NF Trinity, an expert in public market investment research in healthcare, co-hosted the seminar. He and Ms. Wong facilitated a thought-provoking discussion on how patents influence investment decisions in both private and public healthcare sectors, underscoring the critical role of IP in enhancing the value of healthcare investments.
The event culminated in a networking luncheon, orchestrated by Ms. Wong and Mr. Tan, which garnered enthusiastic feedback from the interns. The symposium not only broadened their understanding of intellectual property and investment dynamics but also provided them with invaluable insights into the synergies between commercial development and technological innovation at Nan Fung Group.
